The Process
Transport Caricatures and Scaled Work:
My approach combines art with accuracy. Caricatures are developed from a single photograph or image, allowing the main features to evolve with a blend of precision and artistic flair. For scaled work, I rely on manufacturers’ specification drawings and my own meticulous observations, ensuring each model is a faithful rendition of the original.
Commissions:
I take great pride in working on commissioned pieces, crafting models that are as accurate as the materials allow. Whether it’s a fleet of ‘Road Runner’ local delivery trucks for Leyland Trucks or a vintage ‘Peugeot Cabriolet’ discovered in a French barn, each commission is undertaken with a commitment to detail and quality.

- Leyland Trucks: Honoured to craft 51 ceramic ‘Road Runner’ trucks, celebrating the prowess of local delivery services, including a special edition for the renowned driver Gilbert Bataille.
- Lex Meads Car Dealership: Commissioned to create 6 Golf trophies based on The Mini Metro, merging the worlds of sports and automotive elegance.
- Dunlop Tyres Articulated Rig: A bespoke model that showcases the power and dynamic design of Dunlop Tyres’ rigs.
- Peugeot Cabriolet: A rare gem, this early 20th-century model with its distinctive rear-mounted wicker seating was a joy to recreate, paying homage to automotive history.
Functional Domestic/Decorative Ware:
Beyond the world of transport, I also create functional domestic and decorative ware that showcases strong lines and forms reflecting a degree of sculptural structure. Using techniques such as slab, moulded, cast, and turned construction, each piece is a testament to the beauty of craftsmanship.
